Fiksie handled the complete technical side of Laser PNG, from the web design through to the underlying engine that makes the store work. The website is based on Bootstrap 5 and WooCommerce, with a custom made WordPress theme developed specifically for the business. Rather than trying to adapt a general purpose theme to fit the store, we built the templates, functions and integrations around the way Laser PNG actually sells its products.

The foundation of the website is Bootstrap 5, giving the frontend a reliable and responsive structure. On top of that foundation, Fiksie developed a custom WordPress theme specifically for the store.
The design was created around the products and the people buying them. The visual presentation needs to support browsing through engraving designs without making the store feel complicated. Product information needs to be easy to understand, while important actions such as adding a product to the cart and completing the purchase need to remain clear.
The custom WooCommerce theme also gave us control over how the ecommerce system behaves throughout the website. Instead of accepting the standard presentation provided by WooCommerce, we could shape each part of the customer journey around Laser PNG.

Every WooCommerce Page Was Customised
A WooCommerce store is more than a product page.

This is an important consideration for any WordPress ecommerce project. Plugins can be useful, but adding too many layers to a website can make it harder to maintain. When several plugins attempt to modify the same part of WooCommerce, unexpected behaviour can become difficult to diagnose.
Our approach was to implement the required functionality directly where appropriate rather than installing another plugin for every individual requirement.
